Route 1 – Marienne Graf Point & Castle
This 6.5km hike takes 2h45mins with an elevation gain of only 240m it is an easy to moderate trail visibly marked. The terrain is rocky with a distinguished path through beautiful mountainous landscapes. Points of interest are the Neolithic rock paintings found before reaching the ‘Kalaja’ or ruins of the Ancient Castle of Rubik.
Route 2 – St George’s Church and Cemetery
St. George’s Church and cemetery is a moderate trail for the more intrepid hiker. With spectacular views of the dense forest that populates the valley below, it takes you through a varied terrain for 2h 30mins and climbs to an elevation of 720m. This 4.7Km route can offer mountain enthusiasts looking to do a longer hike the option to continue to the highest summit of Katundi I Vjeter (NOTE: please enquire as this hike requires over 14h and can be obscure to follow and may need local guides).
Starting at Hotel Marub, we find this 7Km trail that takes us 4h through fertile landscapes that offer great foraging options for the fungi and nuts for the knowledgeable scavenging gatherer. With a moderate climb of 500m this trail provides a fantastic journey to the scenic viewpoint of St. Nikolli Church.
